George Dickel 15 Year Old is a single barrel Tennessee whiskey from Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. in Tullahoma, bottled in a 75cl bottle. The strength changes from barrel to barrel, typically between 48 and 52% ABV.
The mashbill is 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. Before charcoal filtering through the Lincoln County Process, the distillate is chilled to 40°F. The whiskey then spends fifteen years in charred American oak barrels.
The nose offers baked apple, vanilla custard, toasted oak, leather and maple, with cherry and clove. The palate has caramel, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, cinnamon and candied orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice, dried fruit, cinnamon sugar and a slight mineral edge.
