George Dickel 15 Year Single Barrel (75cl, 51.5%)

This is a Tennessee whisky aged for 15 years and bottled from single barrels at cask strength, at about 51.5% ABV. Strength varies from barrel to barrel, and each cask is hand-selected and bottled without blending. It was made at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. in Tullahoma, from a mashbill of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. The spirit is chilled before it passes through charcoal, a step the distillery is said to be alone in using among Tennessee producers. The nose offers cherry, baked apple and vanilla custard. The palate is smooth, with aged oak, candied citrus peel, clove-studded orange and cinnamon sugar. The finish is long and warming, with pralines, oak spice, dried fruit and a mineral edge.
