A 4 year old Tennessee whiskey from George Dickel, distilled in 2016 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as B5.4, Easy Peeler. It was drawn from a single new oak barrel and bottled at 63.5% ABV, one of 218 bottles in a 70cl size.
The nose opens with orange, apricot and sour cherries, turning to marmalade, baked banana, maple syrup and brittle toffee, then pink peppercorns, tarragon, peppermint and cigar box. The palate is thick with treacle, red liquorice, strawberry sweets and prunes, with menthol, burnt orange skin and spiced navy rum. Mint chocolate, cinnamon and smoked bacon linger.
