Gérard Bertrand Cigalus White (75cl, 14.5%)

Cigalus White is a biodynamic white wine from Gérard Bertrand, grown in a vineyard planted at more than 5,000 vines per hectare, with yields kept to 25 hl/ha. The grapes are hand-picked and pressed pneumatically. Seventy per cent of the juice ferments in new barrels and the rest in stainless steel. The wine then goes through malolactic fermentation and spends 7 to 8 months in barrel with regular stirring. It is a brilliant golden yellow. The nose is ripe grapefruit, white peach, honey and dried fruit with a toasted note. The palate is full and silky, with vanilla, toast, butter and exotic fruits, and a good length.
