This is Glen Avon 8 Year Old, a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the 1990s, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. The firm was founded in 1895.
The nose is fresh, with oranges, peaches and gooseberry pie, then sweet barley, vanilla cream and a hint of mocha. The palate is light and easy, with apples, pears and muesli with sultanas, plus caramel toffee and a mild walnut dryness.
The finish is sweet and fruity, with smooth honey and a little pepper.
