This is a 17 year old Glen Elgin matured for its full time in a first-fill bourbon barrel, bottled at 56.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in The Caskhound's Legends at the Bar series and is limited to 270 bottles. It is bottled at cask strength, without colouring and non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers ripe peach and apricot jam over a waxy honey note, with vanilla pod, cream caramel, cinnamon and toasted oak. The palate is oily and full, with peach compote, dried apricot, vanilla custard, coconut and brown sugar. The finish is long, spicy and dry, with oak, waxy citrus, vanilla and marzipan.
