This Glen Elgin was distilled in 2009 and matured for 17 years. It comes from The Ultimate Selection and is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
After maturation it was finished for 25 months in first-fill Amarone hogsheads, casks five and six.
The nose brings ripe cherries, red berries and dried fruit, with subtle chocolate and oak. On the palate come dark fruit, vanilla, raisins and warm spices. The finish is long and full, with a pleasant wine sweetness.
