Glen Moray – 11 2012/2023 Warehouse 1 Peated Rioja Cask Finish

This is an 11-year-old peated single malt from Glen Moray, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023. It was finished in Rioja casks, which add wood and fruit character to the smoky spirit. The nose is sweet, with plum jam and stewed berries, and campfire smoke drifting in from a distance. On the palate the plum becomes fuller, joined by cherry, chocolate, roasted nuts and winey oak, with a light touch of peat smoke. The finish is sweet and smoky, with stewed dark fruit and a little pepper.
