This is a 2006 Glen Moray from a single first-fill sherry butt, hand bottled at the distillery. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 61.7%.
The nose opens with dark sherry richness: raisins, dates, fig jam and black cherry compote, with treacle, toasted almonds, cocoa, leather and polished oak. The palate is thick and oily, with sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate, molasses and spiced fruitcake, plus clove, nutmeg and cracked pepper. The finish is long and warming, with dark fruit, cocoa, oak tannin and treacle.
