Glen Moray – 2008/2024 15 Year Old Octave (Duncan Taylor) Germany (70cl, 50.7%)

This 15 year old Speyside single malt from Glen Moray was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2024 by Duncan Taylor. It is part of The Octave series and was chosen for an exclusive selection for Germany. Cask 7041174 gave 90 bottles. After its main maturation in oak, the whisky had a four-month finish in a small ex-sherry octave, a cask of around 50 litres. It is bottled at a cask strength of 50.7%, in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose shows mandarin, clove, raisins and oak. The full palate recalls cinnamon buns, burnt almonds, prunes and toffee, with cardamom, chocolate oat biscuits and toasted oak. The long finish stays spicy, with the sweetness of cherry syrup.
