Glen Moray – Elgin Classic Peated (70cl, 40%)

Glen Moray Elgin Classic Peated is a Speyside single malt that pairs the region's soft side with a clearly smoky character. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery uses both barley dried over peat smoke and its usual malted barley, giving a lightly peated spirit with campfire notes. Maturation in American oak adds vanilla and oak. It belongs to the Classic Collection, which Glen Moray began in 2014. The nose joins peat smoke, vanilla and tart rhubarb, with a hint of leather. On the palate the peat smoke comes first, followed by light spice and creamy vanilla. The long finish keeps sweet, spicy oak smoke to the end.
