Glen Moray Mastery is a limited-edition, multi-vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, released for the distillery's 120th anniversary. It is bottled non-chill-filtered at a cask strength of 52.3% in a 750ml decanter, with 1,000 decanters produced.
Master distiller Graham Coull married five vintages, the oldest filled in 1978: whiskies from three of his predecessors' tenures and two of his own distillations. Each matured in former fortified wine casks, port, sherry or Madeira.
The nose brings resinous sherry, beeswax, dried stone fruit, apricot and red apple. The palate is oily, with stewed fruit, dark jam, burnt caramel and Demerara sugar, then coffee, nuts and spice. The finish is long, with baked apples, allspice and chocolate.
