Glen Moray – Warehouse 1 Peated Rioja Cask (70cl, 58.8%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Glen Moray, made from lightly peated spirit distilled on 5 March 2012. It was aged in bourbon casks, then finished in Rioja red wine casks, and bottled on 22 August 2023. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose has gentle peat smoke around toffee, candy floss and orchard fruits. On the palate come soft bonfire notes, plums and cherries, then tannins, a little acidity and spice. The finish is long, with smoke drifting over tobacco and sweet stone fruit.
