This is a 21 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia. It was matured in select refill bourbon barrels and American oak hogsheads, then finished for six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The Oloroso finish adds floral notes while rich fruit and subtle maritime hints remain.
The nose offers sweet, perfumed Oloroso, spiced red apple and peppercorns. On the palate are baked red apples, plump raisins, cloves, star anise, cinnamon, soft vanilla, toffee and sea spray. The finish is long, with sea salt and sherry dryness.
