Glen Scotia Festival Edition 2026 is a seven-year-old Campbeltown single malt, released for the Campbeltown Malts Festival and bottled at a cask strength of 53.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is medium peated, matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and then finished in ruby port casks. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
Glen Scotia, founded in 1832, produces peated barley for only about four weeks a year, and this release draws on that stock. The port finish adds blackcurrant and honey sweetness to the salty, peaty Campbeltown character.
The nose is sweet peat smoke, ripe red cherry and creamy vanilla fudge. The palate has juicy mandarin, redcurrant jam and layers of smoke, and the finish brings cinnamon, clove, coastal notes, a hint of salt and lingering peat.
