This is the sixth batch of GlenAllachie's 10 year old cask strength single malt, bottled at 57.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The series joined the distillery's core range in 2018 and appears in successive batches. About 39,000 bottles were filled from this one.
The whisky matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons together with virgin oak and Rioja casks, chosen by master distiller Billy Walker. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers heather honey, dark chocolate, mocha, almonds, cinnamon and orange peel. Dark chocolate, molasses, marmalade and grapefruit run through the palate, and the finish is long and powerful.
