This GlenAllachie is a 16 year old Speyside single malt distilled in 2006 and matured in a single PX hogshead, cask 6607. It is bottled at 59% in a 70cl bottle, and 376 bottles came from the cask.
Billy Walker selected the Spanish oak hogshead, as the distillery's robust spirit stands up well to rich sherry casks. The cask gave the whisky a deep mahogany hue.
The colour is rich chestnut. The nose has almonds, treacle, brittle toffee, raisins, dark fruits, chocolate and baking spices. The palate brings dark chocolate, toffee sauce, demerara sugar, mocha, honey and treacle, with cinnamon and coconut shavings on the finish.
