GlenAllachie – 28 Year Old 1990 Virgin Oak Hogshead Cask 1468 (70cl, 54.1%)

A 28 year old single cask GlenAllachie, distilled on 18 September 1990 and bottled in October 2018 at a cask strength of 54.1%. It comes from the first batch of single casks, a series of eight single cask bottlings for Europe, and is in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a virgin oak hogshead and yielded 265 bottles. It is bottled without added colour or chill-filtration, and has a terracotta hue. The nose mixes figs, plums and cinnamon with a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate it is full and complex, starting with heather honey, figs and plums, then cinnamon, cloves and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with intense fruit and sweet chocolate.
