Glendalough – 7 Year Old Single Malt Mizunara Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is a seven-year-old Irish single malt from Glendalough, bottled at 46%. It is triple-distilled and matured in first-fill American oak before a finish in Mizunara casks, the Japanese oak sourced from Hokkaido. Mizunara is known for adding sandalwood, incense and spice to well-matured spirit, and that influence runs through the glass alongside the malt's own character. The nose brings honeyed pear, toasted almond and heather flowers, with incense and baking spice beneath. On the palate there are malted biscuit, apple crumble and golden syrup, then nutmeg, dried mango and white pepper. The finish is long and slightly drying, with vanilla pod, chestnut and a hint of green tea.
