Glendalough – Double Barrel 4 Years Single Grain

Glendalough Double Barrel is a four-year-old Irish single grain whiskey. It is made from a separate mash of locally grown, malted barley and organic maize, and distilled in a Coffey still. It spends at least three years in first-fill bourbon casks, then a further six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled non-chill-filtered. The nose is creamy and malty, with vanilla, white chocolate and buttery fudge, over cooking apples, white grapes, marzipan icing and toasted oak. The palate is juicy caramel, salted melted butter and crème anglaise, with blackberry and jam beneath. The finish is polished oak with a touch of wood spice.
