Glenfarclas – 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl)

Glenfarclas 10 Year Old is a single malt from a Speyside distillery with the biggest stills in the region and the biggest mashtun in the industry. The distillery has chosen consistency over more cost-effective modern methods. Its stills are heated by direct fire from gas burners rather than internal electric elements, after an early 1980s trial of elements changed the flavour of the spirit. The wooden mashtuns were replaced early on, first with steel and later stainless steel, to give a consistent wash. Any new system is run alongside the old one and adopted only once the results are identical. Chairman John Grant personally oversees all barley and barrel purchasing.
