Glenfarclas 17 Year is a Speyside single malt matured for 17 years exclusively in sherry casks. The distillery stands on the slopes of Ben Rinnes in the Livet Valley and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
Full sherry-cask maturation is the house style. The nose offers butterscotch, sherried fruit, orange marmalade and honey, with a thread of peat smoke. The palate is big and sweet with sherry, malt, spice and toasted oak, and the finish is long, smoky and malty.
