This is Batch No. 5 of Glenfarclas 12 Year Old Cask Strength, a single malt Scotch whisky bottled for the Japanese market. It is bottled at 59.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration, after casks were married together.
It was matured for 12 years in sherry casks.
The nose is led by sherry, with raisin, dried fig, prune, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of smoke. The palate is bold and warming, with stewed plum, date, honey and vanilla, and a peppery warmth. The finish is long, with dried fruit, oak spice and lingering smoke.
