Glenfarclas – 1959 Family Casks Release S14

This is a single cask Glenfarclas from 1959, Release S14 (Summer 2014) in the Family Casks series. The spirit was filled on 9 January 1959 into a sherry-seasoned hogshead and spent 55 years in the distillery's cool stone dunnage before being bottled in March 2014 at natural cask strength. Just 121 individually numbered bottles were filled, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The whisky is described as showing dark fruit, polished mahogany and rancio-tinged spice, with chocolate richness and dried-fruit depth from the sherry hogshead.
