Glenfarclas – 1959 Family Casks Release W15

This is a Glenfarclas single malt from the Family Casks series, Release W15, from winter 2015. It was filled on 23 April 1959 into a single sherry-seasoned hogshead and left in the Grant family dunnage for more than five decades. It was drawn in August 2015 at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, and yielded 127 individually numbered bottles. The tasting notes describe dark-fruit preserve, polished mahogany and spice with a rancio character.
