Glenfarclas – 1985 Family Cask (44.2%)

This is a single cask Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, distilled in 1985 and part of the Family Cask series. It matured in a sherry cask for decades and was bottled at a natural strength of 44.2%. Each bottle is individually numbered and filled from that one cask. The nose brings dark raisins, dates, old oak, beeswax and a touch of tobacco. On the palate come dark chocolate, dried fruit, burnt orange peel and nutmeg, with a sherried depth. The finish is long, warm and complex.
