Glenfarclas – 25 Years Old

This is a 25 year old single malt from Glenfarclas, one of the few Scotch distilleries still in family ownership. The distillery draws its water from a small spring rising in the Ben Rinnes hills, and the shape of its pot stills also contributes to the house style. The whisky is dark amber. The nose combines sweet smoke, orange marmalade, honey, fresh-ground coffee, sherry and nuts over aged wood. The palate is full-bodied, with sweet smoke and nuts, and a balance between the sherry casks and the spirit. The finish is long, dry, malty, nutty and lightly smoky, with dark chocolate at the back of the mouth.
