Glenfarclas 40 Years Old is a single malt from Scotland, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with rich dark chocolate, cigar box and raisins, followed by old oak furniture and some leather. After a few minutes a cognac-like rancio note appears. The palate carries on with Christmas cake and a little tobacco, then chocolate orange, coffee beans and chewy dried fruit, with cinnamon and black pepper adding a gentle warmth. The finish is long, with rich sherry and butterscotch, and later Seville orange marmalade and ginger.
