Glenfarclas – 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 50%)

This is a 50 year old single malt from Glenfarclas, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It was bottled to mark Chairman John Grant's five decades in the whisky industry, and was chosen by the distillery manager and managing director. The whisky spent its whole maturation in Spanish sherry casks, and 836 bottles were filled. The tasting notes describe marzipan, almond and cedar on the nose. The palate brings a touch of smoke, stewed apple, dark chocolate and toffee.
