Glenfarclas – Family Cask 1984 (47.1%)

This is a single cask Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, part of the Family Cask series. It was distilled in 1984, matured for almost three decades in a sherry cask and bottled on 1 July 2013 at a natural strength of 47.1%. Each bottle is individually numbered and filled from that single cask. The nose offers ripe dried fruit, toasted oak and hints of caramel and spice. The palate shows dark chocolate, prunes, orange peel and warm spices. It ends with a long, dry finish carrying classic sherry notes.
