Glenglassaugh – 12 Years Old (45%)

Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old is a Highlands single malt from a distillery founded in 1875. It is bottled at 45% ABV. The whisky is matured in three types of cask: bourbon, sherry and Spanish red wine. These bring red fruit character, alongside coastal notes of iodine and peat. The bottle's design recalls the waves and rippled sand of the beaches around Sandend Bay. The nose is fruity and pastry-like, with figs, ripe apricots and vanilla. The palate is sweet, with candied pistachio, dates, figs and morello cherries with whipped cream. The finish is soft and strongly fruity.
