Glenglassaugh – 48 Year Old 1974 Australia Exclusive Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask #1473

This is a 48 year old Highland single malt from Glenglassaugh, distilled on 20th March 1974 and released as an Australian exclusive. The distillery lay silent for over two decades before reopening in 2008. Cask no. 1473 was a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, hand-selected by Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie. The release is limited to 139 bottles, each hand-numbered and sealed with wax, and presented in a custom wooden box. Inspired by the distillery's position on Sandend Bay, it is described as showing tropical and summer fruit notes carried on an ocean breeze.
