Glenglassaugh – Peated Port Wood Finish

Glenglassaugh Peated Port Wood Finish is a Highland single malt from a Banffshire distillery, introduced in 2017 as part of the Wood Finishes series. It carries no age statement. The whisky matured first in ex-bourbon barrels and was then finished in ruby port pipes. Honeyed sweetness and dark fruits sit alongside a mild peat flavour. The nose offers ripe strawberry and cranberry, a touch of salt and strong peaty smoke. The palate is smooth and sweet, with cinnamon spice, mellow smoke, slow-cooked pears and blackberry. The finish is sweet, with tart cherry and a subtle note of citrus.
