Glenglassaugh – Revival (46%)

Glenglassaugh Revival is a Highland single malt, the first bottling released from the distillery after it lay silent for more than 20 years. It matured in a mix of fresh bourbon casks and ex-red wine casks, then was re-racked into sherry casks for a longer finish. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Copper in colour, it has a nose of sweet caramel and toffee, nutty sherry, milk chocolate and honey, with ripe plums, red berries, oranges and charred oak. The palate is sweet, rounded and creamy, with oranges, plums, cherry, walnuts and spiced oak. The finish is medium, with mulled-wine spices, sherry and caramel.
