Glenglassaugh – Sandend Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl)

This is a single malt Scotch from the Glenglassaugh Distillery, on the Moray Firth in the Highland region, in a 70cl bottle. Master Blender Rachel Barrie created it, and it takes its name from Sandend, the crescent-shaped bay where the distillery sits. It was fully matured in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and manzanilla sherry casks, and is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is soft butterscotch, candied citrus peel, tropical fruit, white peach and sea air. The palate is creamy, with salted caramel, pineapple, mango, poached pear and grapefruit. The finish is long, with tropical fruit, sweet oak and a touch of sea salt.
