Glengoyne – 10 Years

This is a ten-year-old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, the distillery founded in 1833 north of Glasgow. It is described as a soft but complex whisky, fresh and floral on the nose and full and malty on the palate. Glengoyne dries its barley with air rather than peat smoke, so the whisky is unpeated. The colour is golden. The nose shows malted barley, ginger, a little sweet heather, coconut and green apple. On the palate the malt continues, joined by a light lemon note, ripe apples and a hint of almond. The finish is sweet, rounded and pleasant.
