Glengoyne – 15 Years Old (70cl, 43%)

Glengoyne 15 Years Old is a Scotch single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It is a vatting of whiskies matured entirely in bourbon casks and sherry casks. The two cask types pull in different directions: sherry brings resinous, sweet, dark orchard fruit, while the bourbon wood adds lighter vanilla notes. The nose has fresh hay, malt flour, rosehip, citrus and dried fruit. On the palate there is gentle sweetness and a hint of tropical fruit, with candied lemon, cinnamon, vanilla and apple pie. The finish is pleasantly dry, with soft spice and lingering oak.
