Glengoyne – 25 Years (48%)

Glengoyne 25 Years is a single malt matured for a quarter of a century in sherry casks made from European oak. It is bottled at 48% and is not chill-filtered. It joined the Glengoyne range alongside the 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21 year olds and the Cask Strength. Glengoyne was founded in 1833 and uses only unpeated malt, so the whisky carries no smoke. The nose offers red fruits, old leather and brown sugar. On the palate come soft oak, cinnamon, stewed fruit and bitter orange marmalade, followed by a very long finish of spicy liquorice that dries slowly.
