Glengoyne – Teapot Dram Batch #11 1st Fill Oloroso Matured Limited Edition (70cl, 59.7%)

Glengoyne Teapot Dram Batch 11 is a Highland single malt bottled at 59.7% ABV in an edition of 3,500 bottles. It was matured in nine first fill oloroso sherry casks, five butts and four hogsheads. The series recalls the 1960s and early 1970s, when distillery workers were given three drams a day and younger staff poured theirs into a copper teapot on the canteen windowsill for older colleagues. That practice ended in 1974. The nose offers dates, dark chocolate, lemon meringue, grilled peach and a wisp of incense. On the palate are cherries, strawberry ice cream, blackberry jam and gingerbread, balanced by oak tannins and subtle spice. The finish is long, with maraschino liqueur, Eton mess, summer berries and a gentle dryness.
