Glengoyne – Teapot Dram Batch #4 (70cl, 58.7%)

This is the fourth batch of Glengoyne Teapot Dram, a Highland single malt matured in first-fill ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 58.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 3,178 bottles were produced. The name recalls a tradition of about 150 years at the distillery, where the Brewer chose a different cask from the warehouse each week so that workers could have a dram three times a day, at 9am, midday and 3pm. Leftovers were poured into a copper teapot. The whisky is described as deliberately young and bold, and is not drawn from an old cask.
