Glengoyne – White Oak Single Malt (70cl, 48%)

This is a Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks and virgin American white oak casks. The idea comes from North America, the summer home of the birds that fill the valley of the geese near Glengoyne each winter. The nose brings lively oak, vanilla cream, light citrus, sponge cake, crisp red apple, ginger spice, unripe banana and a touch of violets. The palate is soft and playful, with crème brûlée, fruit gums, candied lemon, jam tart and tinned pineapple. The finish is plenty of toasted oak with caramel.
