Glenkinchie – 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

This is the 12 year old from Glenkinchie, a Lowland distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 43%. It is the distillery's flagship expression, with the light, grassy character associated with Lowland whisky and hints of cooked fruit and Sauternes wine. The nose is light and aromatic, with barley malt, almonds, hazelnuts and manuka honey or beeswax. The palate is very fruity, with stewed fruits, dessert wine, apple peels and honey, turning oaky late on. The finish is medium in length, with barley and freshly mown grass.
