Glenkinchie 2009 The Distillers Edition is a Lowland single malt, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 at 43% ABV. After its first maturation it was given a second one in Amontillado sherry casks.
The sherry adds dry notes, a light nuttiness and subtle spice, while the soft, fresh Glenkinchie character stays in front and the whisky never turns sweet or heavy.
The nose offers fresh malt, apple and pear, then dry sherry, almond and light spice. The palate is soft and round with honey, grain, nuts and a dry sherry note. The finish is medium long, clean and slightly spicy.
