Glenkinchie – Distillers Edition 2022 (70cl, 43%)

The 2022 release of the Glenkinchie Distillers Edition, a Lowland single malt from the Classic Malts range. This edition first appeared in the late 1990s and is bottled by the distillery at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is double matured, with a second period in casks seasoned with Amontillado sherry. In the glass it is harvest gold with a light to medium body. The nose balances drier notes from the wine against sweeter, nutty barley and cask wood. The palate begins lightly oily and malty, then turns spicy with raisin and date. The finish is long, drying and oaky, with a little white pepper.
