Glenkinchie Distillers Edition is a Lowland single malt known as The Edinburgh Malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is double matured, with the second stage in American oak casks seasoned with Amontillado sherry.
The distillery describes a crisp, well-formed nose that balances the drier notes of the wine against sweeter, nutty barley and cask wood. The palate begins lightly oily and sweetly malty, then turns spicy, with raisin and date and a creamy, faintly grapey sweetness held in check by warming wood spice.
The finish is very long, drying and oaky, with a light white pepper spice.
