Glenmorangie – 12 Years Old Lasanta (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie Lasanta is a 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It spent ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a further two years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. The name is Gaelic for warmth and passion, a nod to the Spanish origin of the sherry butts and to the soft, sweet character of the whisky. In the tasting notes the nose has warm spices, chocolate-covered raisins, honeycomb and toffee. The palate offers sherried sultanas, orange segments, walnuts and butterscotch. The finish is long, with spiced orange and chocolate-covered hazelnuts.
