Glenmorangie – 18 Years Azuma Makoto (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie 18 Years Azuma Makoto is a limited edition Highland single malt, created in collaboration with the flower artist Azuma Makoto. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent its first 15 years in American oak casks. Thirty per cent was then moved into Oloroso sherry casks for three years, and the two parts were married at 18 years. Azuma Makoto made an artwork of nearly 100 flowers from around the world, which appears on the label and packaging. The nose is rich, with jasmine, geranium and daffodil meeting dried fruit, honey and sweet vanilla. The palate is creamy, with honey, malt, figs, dates and a hint of smoke. The finish is long, with walnut and hazelnut.
