Glenmorangie – Allta Private Edition (70cl, 51.2%)

Glenmorangie Allta is the tenth expression in the distillery's Private Edition range, a single malt from the Highlands made by Dr Bill Lumsden. It is bottled at 51.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was made with yeast that grows wild on Glenmorangie's own barley. It is the first single malt fermented with the distillery's bespoke yeast strain. It is described as rich and fruity, with butter candy, creamy vanilla and orange syrup over a yeasty background. A crisp citrus bite on the palate comes with gentle mint, the faintest hint of sweet chilli and delicate floral notes.
