Grand Vintage Malt 1997 is a 23 year old single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 43% ABV. It is the seventh release in the Bond House No. 1 Collection.
Part of the whisky was aged in Château Montrose red wine casks from Saint-Estèphe in Bordeaux. It was combined with whisky aged wholly in bourbon casks, which brings Glenmorangie's citrus notes, and whisky finished for many years in oloroso sherry casks, which adds sweetness and spice. Other casks were also selected for the blend.
The character is floral and lively, with red fruits and candied sweetness.
