Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1998 is a 23-year-old single malt and a limited edition from the Highland distillery. It includes some of the first Glenmorangie aged in new charred oak, and came from one of Dr Bill Lumsden's earliest experiments as the distillery's whisky creator.
The colour is a rich amber. The nose is rich and mellow, with toffee, pears, plums, baked apples, gentle oak, vanilla and spearmint. The palate is zesty and fruity, with chocolate, toffee, raisins and figs, then orange chocolate, clove, ginger and aniseed. The finish is gentle, with sugared almonds, leather and dates.
